My Recent BNB Experience: The Importance of Delivering Comfort AND Style

The Sustainable Host airbnb

Last year, I stayed at an Airbnb while I visited family in the city. The pictures were amazing, and it looked like an authentic experience in a beautiful tiny home. However, my stay highlighted some critical aspects of sustainability that are often overlooked: practicality and comfort before style.

Living a life with Purpose and Balance

A young person, approximately 19 years old, sits in a dimly lit room, illuminated by the glow of a smartphone. Their expression appears contemplative and somber, with colorful lighting casting a mix of blue and pink hues across their face and surroundings.

It’s easy to picture solar panels, reusable bags, or lush green spaces when considering sustainability. But what if we looked at it differently—applying it to our own health and wellness? Taking care of ourselves isn’t so different from caring for the planet. It takes deliberate choices, small but consistent habits, and a focus on the bigger picture to build a life that supports both our body and mind over the long term.

Green Parenting: Nurturing Children and the Planet

A woman with long, light brown hair holds a small child in her arms while standing amidst lush, green foliage in a forest. The child has blonde hair and is wearing a light-colored outfit. The scene exudes a sense of tranquility and connection with nature.

Raising children is a journey filled with joy, challenges, and countless decisions. As parents, we strive to provide the best for our little ones while navigating a world increasingly concerned about the environment. Enter green parenting – a holistic approach that considers the well-being of both our children and the planet they will inherit. Green […]

Lost in the Noise: Celebration Days and the Awareness Fatigue Epidemic

A tropical island with lush greenery is seen in the background, while beneath the ocean surface, a vibrant coral reef teems with various colorful fish. In the sky above the island, airplanes are flying. A large question mark is superimposed over the island.

Sitting at home on a lazy Sunday morning, I found myself scrolling through the calendar, realising how many world celebration days had quietly slipped by unnoticed this past week. World Milk Day, World Bicycle Day, World Environment Day – all important causes, yet they hardly registered on most people’s radar. These days have the potential […]

The Uncomfortable Truths Behind Sustainable Travel and How to Actually Make a Difference

A person with a backpack stands on a hilltop, watching an airplane fly into the sunset over a vast landscape of mountains and valleys.

As the travel industry accelerates toward eco-awareness, the concept of “sustainable travel” has risen to the forefront. However, the real journey to sustainability cuts through the appealing simplicity of trendy phrases and greenwashed promises. True sustainable travel demands an honest commitment, more profound than the alluring images of eco-friendly brochures and travel guides. Consider transportation […]

The Hidden Cost of Your Kitchen Bin: The Unseen Impact of Food Waste

A heap of discarded food items in a kitchen bin, symbolizing food waste.

Think about your kitchen bin. It’s likely seen its fair share of leftovers, those wrinkled apples you forgot about, or the bread that got a bit stale.  Globally, we’re all tossing way too much: about 1.3 billion tons of perfectly good food each year – that’s enough to fill trucks lined up around the entire […]

Cultivating a Sustainability Mindset: Reshaping Our Habits

Glass globe surrounded by vibrant green plants and bathed in sunlight, representing environmental care and sustainability.

In today’s ever-changing world, having the right mindset is more important than ever. This idea really came to life recently during a chat I had on Google Meet with Nikki Domeny, a people and culture coach who’s just as passionate about sustainability as I am. We explored how this mindset guides our responses to environmental […]
